February 12, 2017

Featuring “RUNNING for JIM”

Ready for an inspirational afternoon?

Mark your calendars now! You won’t want to miss this afternoon of inspiration and motivation, along with a healthy dose of fun. It’s the 8th annual Modesto Marathon Movie & Wine Matinee on Sunday, Feb. 12, at The State Theatre in downtown Modesto.

The featured film is Running for Jim, which documents the story of San Francisco high school running coach Jim Tracy, his battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease, and the championship team that brought his story to international attention. A Q&A with Tracy’s assistant coach, Kevin Cruikshank, will follow the film, which is suitable for all ages, regardless if you’re a runner, walker, or none of the above.

The fund-raiser for the Teens Run Modesto program is sponsored by Hillock Family Dental, and offers food by Fuzio Universal Bistro and UNO Pizzeria & Grill, wine, drawings and silent auctions.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and $10 for those under 21, and available at The State Box Office, 1307 J St., Modesto, or online at the link below.

Doors open at 1 p.m., with film at approximately 3 p.m. Don’t miss out on the amazing silent auction baskets featuring everything from running watches and headphones to dinner packages.
