Marathon

The Modesto Marathon course features a downtown 7 a.m. start on M Street, between 10th and 11th streets, and travels through scenic tree-lined historic college neighborhoods, including the celebrated “house in the middle of the road.”

Runners will then head past Modesto Junior College’s west campus, and into the countryside viewing the beautiful Diablo Mountain Range, passing the San Joaquin River National Wildlife Refuge.

Runners then head back toward town, finishing near the Doubletree Hotel/Modesto Convention Center, on N Street.

The flat, fast course will be open 7 hours, allowing adequate time for first-time marathoners.

Half Marathon

The Modesto Marathon course features a downtown 7 a.m. start on M Street, between 10th and 11th streets, in conjunction with the Modesto Marathon.

Runners will travel through scenic tree-lined historic college neighborhoods, including the celebrated “house in the middle of the road,” then past Modesto Junior College’s west campus, and into the countryside surrounded by scenic orchards. Runners will make a loop and head back toward town, finishing near the Doubletree Hotel/Modesto Convention Center.

The Half Marathon course is flat and fast, and will remain open 7 hours. Walkers and first-timers are especially encouraged to participate in the 13.1-mile event.

5K

The 3.1-mile loop begins at 7:20 a.m. on M Street, between 10th and 11th  streets, and travels from downtown Modesto through beautiful tree-lined streets, including Graceada Park and the celebrated “house in the middle of the road.” The course then turns down the Virginia Corridor, winding back to the finish on N Street, near the host Doubletree Hotel/Modesto Convention Center.

Half Marathon Relay

The first leg is 7 miles and the second leg is 6.1 miles. There is ample parking at North & Finney in the Sierra Vista Elementary parking lot.

**There will be no shuttles. Teams must provide their own transportation.

What will be the electrolyte supplements served on the Surgical Artistry Modesto Marathon course?

On the course, we will have Tri Berry Nuun Hydration, Chocolate Outrage Gu, Tri Berry Gu, Strawberry Banana Gu (caffeine free), and Re-Lyte Sport Caps.

What else will be served on the course?

Electrolyte drink and water will be served approximately every 2 miles.  Pretzels at every aid station.  Gel will be at 7.6, 12.1, 16.2, 23.8 for the full marathon. GU will be at 7.6, 10.7 for the half marathon. There will also be bananas and oranges at mile 10 & 17.5 and chips at mile 23.5 for the full, and chips at 10.5 for the half.

Aid stations will be located at the following points along the course. The numbers identify the miles from the start of the race.
